RN to BS in Nursing

Program Overview

The RN to BS in Nursing program is designed for registered nurses who have completed an associate degree or diploma nursing program and want to advance their education by earning a bachelor’s degree in nursing. Offered through Rutgers University–Camden and the School of Nursing–Camden, the program helps nurses build on their existing education and professional experience while developing the knowledge and skills needed to advance their careers.

Designed with working nurses in mind, the program can be completed in as little as one year with full-time attendance. Courses are offered primarily in an asynchronous online format, providing students with the flexibility to balance their education with professional and personal responsibilities. Students may attend full-time or part-time, and the program is fully accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE).

Students admitted to the program may earn 33 credits by passing the NCLEX exam and may transfer up to 60 additional credits from prior coursework. Admission requirements generally include graduation from an accredited nursing program, a preferred minimum GPA of 2.5, and current RN licensure or eligibility to sit for the NCLEX.

Transfer requirements vary by partner community college. Review the transfer guidelines for your location below for specific requirements and recommended courses.
