Psychology

Program Overview

The Psychology program explores how individual behavior and thought are influenced by biological, developmental, cognitive, and social processes. Offered through Rutgers University–Camden and University College–Camden, the program provides students with a strong foundation in modern psychological research and theory.

Students examine topics ranging from the structure and function of the nervous system, sensation, perception, and cognition to human development, personality, group dynamics, and abnormal behavior. Through the study of psychological theories and scientific research, students develop a broad understanding of human behavior and the factors that shape it.

The program prepares students for graduate study in clinical or research psychology and provides a strong foundation for related fields such as education, social work, medicine, and criminal justice.
