RN to BS in Nursing

The Rutgers School of Nursing-Camden offers a RN to BS in Nursing for registered nurses who are seeking the Bachelors of Science in Nursing (RN to BS in Nursing). The RN to BS advanced placement track is designed for students who already hold a registered nurse (RN) license. This program is designed to build upon the existing foundation of nursing knowledge and clinical experience possessed by registered nurses. The BS in Nursing and RN to BS program is highly regarded by health-care providers throughout southern New Jersey and the Delaware Valley. Courses in the RN to BS in Nursing program include online and live classroom sessions.


The RN to BS Express specifically offered at Rutgers at Atlantic Cape and Rutgers at Mercer program is only open to student who hold an RN license and have successfully completed an associates degree in Nursing at a regionally accredited community college. Students complete 90 credits worth of coursework, which includes 33 transfer credits, awarded for successfully passing NCLEX. Students transferring to the RN to BS Express degree will complete 30 credits with Rutgers to earn the BS in Nursing. Admissions Requirements

While there is no minimum GPA needed in order to apply, a 2.8 GPA or higher is recommended to be competitive for admission. This program is only open to students who hold an RN license and have successfully completed an associates degree in Nursing at a regionally accredited community college. It is strongly recommended to meet with a Rutgers staff member to review required prerequisite courses.
