Transferring Credits

Registered Nurse to Bachelor of Science in Nursing at Rutgers at Mercer County Community College Transfer Information

For students interested in transferring into the RN to BS in Nursing program offered at Rutgers at Mercer County Community College, completion of the following Mercer County Community College courses are recommended before enrollment:

CHE107 – General & Physiological Chemistry
HPE101 – Basic Concepts of Nutrition
MAT125 – Elementary Statistics I
PSY207 – Developmental Psychology

After enrolling at Rutgers, students are permitted to take select required courses for the RN to BS program prior to completing the NCLEX exam. Students are encouraged to complete the NCLEX exam as soon as possible to avoid any delays in completing the curriculum.

This transfer program is designed for students who have successfully completed the Associate in Science (A.S.) in Nursing at Mercer County Community College. It is recommended that the above courses be completed as part of or in addition to the A.S. Nursing program.

A grade of C or better is required to receive transfer credit. Students must take a minimum of 30 credits at Rutgers to receive a degree.

It is strongly recommended to consult with a Mercer Nursing Advisor and Rutgers at Mercer Advisor prior to applying to transfer to discuss transfer eligibility.

Courses for the RN to BS Nursing program at Rutgers at Mercer County are a combination of courses taught in-person at the Mercer West Windsor campus and online. Students interested in transferring into this program should be comfortable with taking some online courses. In-person courses are typically scheduled on Wednesdays.
