Leadership and Management

The Leadership and Management program is offered by the Rutgers Business School—Newark. The Management and Global Business department equips students with the tools, skills and understanding needed to manage and lead businesses in our globally integrated economy.   With a focus on organizations and employees, managers are involved in planning, organizing, staffing, controlling and leading the enterprise. Students develop skills to be not only how to be effective managers, but also to be effective leaders.

Management careers are found in all industries, because expert management is essential to the success of all businesses. Management and Global Business graduates find work after graduation in a variety of supervisory and management trainee and associate positions. These positions include for example: customer service managers, strategy and business analytics associate, business development specialist, product and brand management associate, and team leads in cross-functional teams. Graduates specializing in international business find employment in multinational companies involved in import and export business as well as foreign companies operating in the United States.

Students must take at least 15 credits beyond the school core, including 3 credits of the required course and at least 12 credits of electives.

Admissions Requirements

Students with an earned associate’s degree from an accredited community college are eligible to apply to the program.  Specific pre-requisite courses may be required

Transferring Credits

Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey will transfer a maximum of  60-64 credits or one-half of the total degree credits required for a baccalaureate degree from a NJ county college to a Rutgers degree program for those students who have completed an A.A. or A.S. degree. Please visit the NJ Transfer website at www.njtransfer.org to look up the Recommended Transfer Program (RTP) for any undergraduate major at Rutgers. Students may be awarded up to 90 credits from a 4-year institution.
