The Associate in Science Human Services degree is the recommended associate’s degree program at Atlantic Cape which includes most of the above courses as part of that program. Completion of an Associate in Applied Science (AAS) degree is not recommended.
Please note: The BASW program requires full-time enrollment which is typically 5 classes/15 credits per semester (or 4 classes/12 credits per semester including the summer term) and only accepts students to begin the program in the fall semester. Students who wish to enroll in the spring semester may complete required coursework outside of the major and should meet with a Rutgers-Mays Landing advisor to discuss before applying. Students enrolling in Rutgers in the spring will need to complete a major declaration form to be eligible to start the Social Work program in the fall. Students applying for transfer in the fall do not need to complete the form.
Students may transfer up to 60 credits from a community college to University College-Rutgers Camden and the School of Social Work and must receive a grade of C or better for a course to be transferable. A minimum cumulative 3.0 GPA is recommended to be considered for admission.
For students who have not completed the Human Services (AS) associate’s degree at Atlantic Cape Community College, it is recommended to consult with a Rutgers at Atlantic Cape advisor prior to applying to transfer to discuss transfer eligibility.
Courses for the BASW degree at Rutgers at Atlantic Cape Community College are a combination of courses taught in class at the ACCC-Mays Landing campus and online courses. Students interested in transferring into this program should be comfortable with taking some online courses.
